"Since it's founding in 1988, The Ireland Chamber in the U.S. has proven especially effective, offering a wide range of programs and services that encourage partnership between New Yorkers and the Irish."
- Michael R. Bloomberg, Mayor, The City of New York

The Ireland Chamber - United States is proud to support the following charities.

The Albert Schweitzer Leadership for Life Foundation (ICCUSA FOUNDATION)

The ICCUSA Foundation, Inc presents the Albert Schweitzer's Leadership for Life programs and conferences. Albert Schweitzer's Leadership for Life is in dynamic partnership with the Ireland Chamber - United States (ICCUSA) and its foundation (The ICCUSA Foundation, Inc.) based in New Providence, New Jersey, USA. Albert Schweitzer Leadership for Life Operates as the flagship program of the ICCUSA Foundation, Inc., a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that actively promotes educational opportunities for young adults all across the globe. ASLFL's efforts meet the educational mission of the Ireland Chamber while providing members with the knowledge that they are creating a better world - a more prosperous, peaceful world with strong and courageous leadership free of bigotry, ambivalence and cultural ignorance.

Don't Wait For Leaders, Create Them

While teaching important leadership skills, the need to encourage students to "give back" to their communities is essential. Dr. Schweitzer was a champion of this philosophy and, with permission granted by Rhena Schweitzer Miller, the daughter of Dr. Schweitzer, our organization is proud to carry his name, share his philosophies and accept his invitation to "invest in humanity" to make the world a better place.

Exposing all students to the significant benefit of mentors -high-profile leaders in business, government, education and the non-profit sector - is a major component of the Albert Schweitzer Leadership for Life program. As part of our Albert Schweitzer Distinguished Lecture Series, these leaders, many of whom are recipients of national and international honors, form an integral part of the ASLFL program.

"Search and see if there is not some place where you may invest your humanity."

~Albert Schweitzer

Concern Worldwide is a non-governmental, international, humanitarian organization dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world's poorest countries. Since its foundation in 1968, Concern Worldwide-through its work in emergencies and long-term development-has saved countless lives, relieved suffering and provided opportunities for a better standard of living for millions of people. We work primarily in the countries ranked in the bottom 40 of the United Nations Human Development Report. Concern implements emergency response programs as well as long-term development programs in the areas of livelihoods, health, HIV&AIDS, and education.

Our Vision:

Concern's work is informed by a vision for change. We envision a world in which no-one lives in poverty, fear or oppression; in which all have access to a decent standard of living and the opportunities and choices essential to a long, healthy and creative life; and in which everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Our Mission:

Our mission is to help people living in extreme poverty achieve major improvements in their lives that last and spread without ongoing support from Concern. Our role is to ensure that people living in extreme poverty are able to meet their basic needs, achieve their rights and manage their own development. We do so by working with communities and by using our shared experience and knowledge to address the root causes of extreme poverty.
